There was a girl named Binya, probably 10 years old, because no one kept birthdays in the village. She was wandering with her cows in the town of Garhwal, Cows enjoy going here and there with Binya as she lets them roam wherever they want and she returns with them. One fine day she was moving with her cows in the hills and saw a family sitting and picnicking. Binya also saw a blue umbrella of a woman and that woman saw Binya’s leopard’s claw pendant and wanted it. Binya too wanted her blue umbrella. So, she exchanged her leopard’s claw pendant with that umbrella. Binya was satisfied and happy to get it. No one in the village had such a fine Umbrella and she went everywhere with that umbrella. There were many who envied Binya’s treasured possession but the most envious of them was old Ram Bharosa, the shopkeeper who decided to steal that beautiful blue umbrella. So, will the blue umbrella get snatched from Binya? Will the shopkeeper be successful in his act? Want to know then do read this beautiful and humorous novella.
