My Review:-
The whole book is divided into three parts: inner warfare, control, and purpose. Let me give you a summary of the whole book.
Book I: Inner Warfare
- Decide
This chapter explains that fear is our greatest enemy on the path to pursuing our dreams or talents. So, instead of moving away from fear, one should face and conquer it boldly. The author says that life without any fear is impossible because there will always be situations, places, and people in the world that you will fear, so you must be brave and face your fear. He further explains that people who have achieved something learn how to remove obstacles from their lives; they decide they can; they did hard work and achieved great things in their lives. So, we need confidence over fear to battle it.
- Fight the enemy within.
It talks about facing fear, and that fear is natural; we all face fear. The important thing is conquering fear and living a liberating life. This whole new freedom gives you the chance to do anything good for the people who love you. Mastering this skill needs practice and the right set of tools, like rights books. Also, we cannot control external factors, but we can control our actions, responses, and attitudes.
Book II: Control
- Build confidence with competence.
The author says that people won’t tell you that it takes huge confidence to take action. Some people have it, but most of us need courage to take action. So, self-confidence will increase if you increase your competencies and master new skills. To be more confident in taking action, follow these steps:
- Improve your competencies.
- Put them into practice.
- See results
- Grow more confident.
- Repeat
That’s the complete process. He says that confidence and competence go hand in hand. They are only useful when combined. Without one, the other is unimportant.
- Learn from everything.
In this chapter, the author says to learn from every situation in life. Everyone makes mistakes, so learn from them rather than blame yourself or, worse, others. The keys to life are learning, progress, and growth.
Book III: Purpose
- Practice presence and happiness
In this chapter, the author suggests being in the present moment without thinking about the past or worrying about the future. See good in every situation, even if the situation is bad; read books; listen to good music or podcasts; listen to audiobooks; exercise; be healthy; and much more; but always try to be positive all the time. When we become more positive and solution-oriented, we will be able to find solutions to upcoming obstacles, which will eventually eliminate fear, stress, and anxiety from our lives.
- Enjoy the moment.
Do anything by being fully present in the moment, be it anything. Leave all worries about the past and future; just enjoy your present moment, wherever you are.
Ending notes:-
