My Review:-
A Christmas Carol is the story of an old miser, mean-spirited, and cold-hearted Ebenezer Scrooge who lives in his own world, is very greedy in terms of money, doesn’t help others, and just does not celebrate Christmas. So, to change himself as a person so that he would not get punished for his evil deeds after death, his friend Jacob Marley’s ghost teaches him lessons for three consecutive nights as the ghost of “Christmas past”, “Christmas present” and “Christmas yet to come”. A ghost of Christmas past showed him how he was in his school at a young age, and his love left him because of his greed for money. The ghost of Christmas past showed him Bob Cratchit, his clerk’s house, and his son, Tiny Tim, who was crippled; they somehow managed in their meager home. The third time, the ghost of Christmas yet to come showed him his grave, around which some businessmen were discussing his riches, and a couple showed relief at the death of his unforgiving creditor.
Ending notes:-
So, this was my review of the book. The story is great and the writing is rich in vocabulary, so you have to find the meaning of the words while reading. Overall, it is a good novella to start with, but it is not for the beginner as it is a classic book, so you will find the language a little tough to read. But if you are an avid reader like me, you can easily pick this book to read and enjoy it thoroughly.
