My review:-
This is the story of five friends who planned a weekend trip to McLeodganj. The characters’ names were Aryan, Saurabh, Kartik, Samaira, and Shivanya. They faced numerous horrible incidents the moment they planned the trip. They reach Aryan’s house, and then they start their journey. So some events happened in history that have a connection to Saurabh and Aryan’s present life, and they were also prohibited from entering Himachal Pradesh. But they didn’t listen, and they made plans and came to Himachal, where their friends started experiencing spooky and scary things.
All the characters have their pasts, which they properly reveal in a game called Truth and Dare. There was the scene where they all picked the truth instead of daring, as the weather was stormy and rainy that day, and they started telling their background stories to everyone. Some found their old friendship, and some felt the pain and suffering of their friends. Shivanya and Samaira were childhood friends, and Aryan and Saurabh were brothers. Also, Shivanya and Aryan and Kartik and Samaira were couples. So, these were the things about characters. All five were good friends and cared for each other. So, what will happen? Will they complete their trek? Will they survive these evil forces? Do read the book to know.
Since it is romantic horror fiction, it has both romance and horror scenes, which are very beautifully described in the book. But horror scenes are great; if you have watched the Bollywood movie 1920, then it will give that vibe even more fun. The novel also has poems of love in it, and when Kartik tells Samaira his poetry, oh my god! That scene is amazing. Poems are, of course, written by the author, but the way they are told by the characters is amazing. For describing scenes, the author has written the time, like “1:20 IST,” and the place name.
Ending notes:-
The book is wonderful; I have read it two times, and you can finish it in two sittings because I have done it. The plot twists, story, and narration are very nice. I loved this book and found the story tightly knitted. If you are a reader, you will surely love this book as much as I did. This is the second book by the author, and he has written three books so far. You can just click on the affiliate link on the book name; it would be a great help. Thank you. Other books: “It’s Still Complicated” and “The Korean Saviour”
